Crafting the perfect gyro involves a meticulous preparation process. The meat—whether pork, beef, lamb, or chicken—is marinated with a blend of herbs and spices, then stacked onto a vertical rotisserie. As the meat cooks, it self-bastes, resulting in a juicy interior and a crispy exterior. Once cooked, the outer layers are shaved off in thin slices, ensuring each bite is tender and flavorful. This method not only enhances the taste but also preserves the traditional cooking techniques passed down through generations. Find even more details on yayamas.com. The gyro, a cornerstone of Greek street food, traces its roots to the early 20th century. In 1922, Greek and Armenian refugees from Asia Minor introduced the vertical rotisserie cooking method to Greece. This technique, likely inspired by the Turkish döner kebab, involved stacking seasoned meat on a rotating spit, allowing it to cook evenly and self-baste in its own juices. The term “gyro” comes from the Greek word γύρος, meaning “turn,” reflecting the rotation of the meat during cooking. Traditionally, gyros were made with lamb, but over time, pork became the preferred choice in Greece due to its availability and flavor profile.

French bakery Wichita, KS by Alain Galette and LA Galette French Bakery

French sandwiches & quiches Wichita, Kansas by LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette: Alain opened La Galette to bring a delicious taste of Europe to the Midwest. Our menu is simple, yet delicious and wee are so proud to be homemade from the first to the last bite. Alain Galette takes pride in our high quality, quick and simple items that can cater to all palates. My friend’s tomato bisque was served in a large bowl and was thick, creamy and hot. She said she would definitely order it again. Both of our lunch entrees were served with a freshly baked hard roll. Our fattoush salads were piled high on individual plates, but we agreed the dressing tasted like a red wine vinaigrette so the salad didn’t have as much flavor as other fattoush salads. Our dessert choices included tarts, eclairs, cheesecake and other delectable items, and it was difficult to select one. See additional info at Alain Galette.

There are two qualities in a restaurant that are guaranteed to win over any customer: good food and good people. Over in the Delano District, you will find just that in a French bakery on west Douglas. They’re a popular little spot that’s been around for over three decades now in Wichita. People literally drive from all parts of the state to pick up their pastries and desserts. But this review will cover much more because La Galette French Bakery is not just about the desserts. There’s a whole lot more going on!

The first thing though that catches your eyes is the display of desserts. Don’t be overwhelmed by it all. The guys working that afternoon were able to answer any and all questions customers had about what felt like every single one. They were able to make suggestions, explain what each dessert was made of, and give a little back story of some of the desserts. I love hearing restaurant owners and staff talking about their food. I’m no cook so learning about what goes into each one is really fascinating to me.

Top rated French bakery Wichita, KS with LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette: After glancing through the desserts, I started lunch off backwards and ordered the St. Tropez for starters. Most people end their meals with dessert, I wanted to change things up that afternoon. The picture doesn’t do the dessert true justice. While very similar to a cake, this rich cream-filled brioche gets its name from its hometown of origin, St. Tropez, France. The guys over at La Galette told me you can’t find this dessert anywhere else in town. It’s unique to La Galette and it’s simply splendid. It’s also one of the most popular desserts there. After eating it, I contemplated cancelling my lunch order and getting more dessert but common sense one that day.

If you thought their desserts were good, just wait until you try their lunch menu. My friend went with their lunch special which was the Southwest chicken over rice along with chicken and rice soup (Yes, he must be a big fan of chicken and rice). He thought both were fantastic and was amazed how good the food was given it was his first time ever at La Galette. The portion size he received was more than enough as well.

I had the pastrami sandwich served in a croissant as recommended by the staff along with the lentil soup. I was hesitant at first because I felt the croissant would just fall apart while eating but that wasn’t the case. It’s the only way to go when you order a sandwich. It was a great sandwich with plenty of meat. The Lentil soup was served hot and was delicious.

Before ordering the sandwich, I was back and forth on whether to go with the sandwich or the Quiche. Since I ordered the sandwich, I went back the very next day and ordered their seafood Quiche and a fattouch salad.

The seafood Quiche was possibly the best I’ve ever had; nice generous heaping of seafood such as crab inside that didn’t have me second-guessing my order. The fattouch salad was as expected a highly piled stack of lettuce. It was certainly lighter tasting than most other fattouch around town; maybe it was the dressing as it didn’t have much on it.

Regardless two different visits to La Galette and both were big wins. The only real negative of the place is that they are just open for lunch but don’t expect that to change.

French breakfast & lunch Wichita, KS by LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette: The other huge positive besides the food is the people. Everybody there is SOOOOOO incredibly friendly and just as knowledgeable on the menu. Every person who walked in received a greeting and every person who left received a thank you. It’s the small things like that which can really help a restaurant thrive. Others should take note.

Add La Galette to your rotation of restaurants. You’ll be glad you did.

How much do you indulge your sweet tooth? It’s not every day that you visit a french bakery in Kansas, but when you do, you’ll want pastries like these. Have you tried this Wichita bakery before? Order the lunch special and pick out your dream come true. Welcome to La Galette French Bakery, an oasis of pastries in the city. Before we get to the pastries themselves, we should also mention that they make amazing lunches that vary from sandwiches to soups and other light fare. You’ll find La Galette French Bakery at 1017 W Douglas Ave, Wichita, Kansas. Make sure to bring your appetite and your sweet tooth!

Keep the kitchen running smoothly with quality equipment that doesn’t break down in the middle of a shift. Save on food costs by purchasing premium products that don’t go bad overnight in the walk-in. From deep-fryers and freezers to prime rib and fresh romaine hearts, buying the best is always cost-effective. Invest time in menu development. Are you offering guests plenty of variety? Can you modify recipes to highlight seasonal specialties? Customers want to see their favorites, but they enjoy new items too. A flexible menu frees up culinary creativity and keeps dining room guests happy.

Since that time, Drory has cultivated a prestigious history of success in the New York City restaurant scene. His first purchase was Ye Waverly Inn from the family who had run the establishment for three generations. Due to his strategic upgrades to the restaurant, including the installation of the famed garden, Drory created a popular New York hot spot and tripled the revenue in three years. After 14 years for ownership, he sold Ye Waverly Inn for seven figures. Next, Drory bought The Cub Room restaurant from renowned chef, Henry Meer for $1.25 million. After a year of ownership he had increased the revenue by 70%. Totaling in 8,000 square feet, The Cub Room housed a 3,000 square foot dining area, a lounge with a bar which was further expanded by Drory, with 89 types of scotch and 94 types of vodka. An organic café occupied the third room, which became a favorite hangout area for New Yorkers. After about ten years Drory sold the restaurant for $2.5 million

Drory’s next restaurant and renovation project was Greenwich café, a 24-hour café, which became a well- loved spot by its downtown West Village community. Barbara Walters even chose the restaurant to host a 4-hour, on-location live show where the community played an integral part of the broadcast. The initial project cost for the restaurant was $350,000 and it was sold for $1.8 million, adding to Drory’s portfolio. Along with Lesly Bernard, best known for Pravda and Clementine, and Herb Wilson, formerly of Bambou and Jack’s Fifth, Drory next remade Greenwich into NYC, which was acquired for $2.2 million. Drory’s other projects have included two Italian restaurants, located in East and West Village, and called Tanti Baci. Drory brought in special cooks from a village in Palermo, Italy, where his father was raised, to enhance the romantic feel of the restaurant. The two restaurants were a big success after 14 years of operating and were sold for $1.8 million each.

One of Drory’s latest projects is Artisanal Bistro, located on 2 Park Avenue, noted as NYC’s first artisanal food entries. After acquiring Artisanal, Drory made many improvements in the first 40 days, including saving $1.2 million by cutting expenses and adding enhancements to the environment for the clientele that love Artisanal. Menu enhancements by Drory include offering 81 types of wine by glass to match the existing menu of 197 types of cheese; expert bakers from Breads to add to the wine and cheese experience; and increasing the wine selection list to include top shelf cognac and scotch. Drory hired Adam Tihany, the famed hospitality designer who originally designed the space, to renovate Artisanal. Additional contracts in the works include two downtown hotspots; Spitzer’s Corner on 101 Rivington Street and Los Feliz on 109 Ludlow Street. Spitzer’s was bought for $5.2 million and Los Feliz for $2.8 million. Sarid also bought the club Fat Baby for $3 million. Drory will be moving Artisanal to a better and bigger location on Park Avenue, because Sarid would like to share the space with a substantial retail space for cheese and pastries by Fall 2016.

There’s not another business like it. You can own a small diner, manage a national chain or pamper guests in five-star surroundings. Regardless of the setting, we hope our tips and ideas serve as both an overview of what you’re doing right and inspiration for positive changes.

There are many things to consider before running a restaurant. Once you have a solid business plan in place, your brick-and-mortar foodie spot can become a reality. Concept – What is the whole idea behind your restaurant? Focus on the type of food you want to serve, and whether the setting will be casual, contemporary, or upscale. Most of all, consider what makes your restaurant unique. Budget – How much can you afford to spend on your restaurant? Your budget should take into consideration the cost of equipment and supplies, furniture, décor, labour, advertising, and the venue itself. You may need to borrow funds from a financial institution or approach investors to raise enough capital to get your restaurant off the ground.

For starters, HolaBot is quite spacious, with four large trays that have a capacity of 15kgs or 34 pounds each. That means when filled to the brim, the HolaBot is capable of holding 132 pounds of dirty cups, dishes, bowls, utensils, whatever else you want it to transport. For the average person, just carrying that much weight would require at least 3 to 4 trips back and forth from the table. Even if a utility cart was being utilized, that’s a lot of weight to push around in a cart while still having to be careful to prevent any spillage while transporting the bussing tubs. Mindful of that, HolaBot is fully enclosed on the front and sides, so only the rear opening is exposed for quick loading and unloading of the bussing tubs.

BellaBot comes with four large trays that can each accommodate two typical dinner plates, or one large specialty plate. With a capacity of 22.5lbs per tray, one trip with BellaBot can carry loads that would take 2 to 4 workers to carry over, how’s that for efficiency? All the while, it can deliver them carefully with the advanced built-in wheel suspension that allows it to glide over small bumps and cracks on the floor. BellaBot features the most advanced sensor package on the market today, with several optical infrared cameras, four IR illuminators, a LIDAR sensor and bump sensors to avoid obstacles and ensure it never gets lost unlike the majority of other robots out there. There are even four motion sensors on each of the four trays to determine if the food on a given tray has been emptied…it is intelligent enough to go to the next table when the tray is emptied without any human interaction.

Navia Robotics is a leading solutions provider for service robots in restaurants, cafes, hospitals, schools, factories, hotels and shopping mall settings. For large carrying capacity, look no further, HolaBot is at your service. With intelligent paging and voice control function, HolaBot is designed to boost efficiency and productivity in restaurants, hospitals, warehouses and factories. HolaBot has a 132lb carrying capacity with a maximum volume of nearly 40 gallons. 4 large capacity trays allow you to stow away large amounts of dishes, products or any other goods from one point to the next, with contactless voice activated cues to turn the robot around for loading and unloading. The trays can also be detached for larger, taller items.

BellaBot features an industry exclusive dual SLAM solution for accurate location positioning and obstacle avoidance. Most other solutions only utilize either a laser SLAM solution or a visual SLAM solution, but our latest BellaBot utilizes both to provide the highest levels of positional accuracy in the industry. That means whether you have a dozen tables or a hundred, BellaBot will be able to go to the correct table consistently, making your job easier and not having to worry about any mix-ups with customers. Restaurants with larger footprints where it’s quite a ways away from the front entrance to the more distant tables were having a crisis when the restaurant was packed; the host would be taking far too long to take guests to their tables meaning there was nobody to greet new patrons who just walked in the door. Hiring another receptionist or host just for this purpose didn’t make much sense, especially during downtime when the restaurant was less busy, so the owners used the KettyBot to take guests to their tables. What they found was it was an incredibly effective and efficient use of time, the host can always be on standby at the front entrance and take phone calls as necessary for reservations, while no time was wasted to get guests seated.

Multi-robot Coordination and Cooperation: KettyBot can coordinate operations with additional units within the same network to operate quickly and efficiently. The robots can coordinate their movements to avoid interrupting each other. KettyBot provides voice alerts and on screen notifications when the battery level gets too low and automatically returns to the docking station to recharge. No need to worry about manually charging the robot, KettyBot takes care of that on its own!

Advanced algorithms for obstacle avoidance are implemented to ensure the safety of those around the robot. In addition to LIDAR, multiple visual sensors are implemented to go beyond simple 2D perception and ensure accurate detection in 3D perception…including any blind spots. Pudubot obstacle avoidance capability: 3D Obstacle Avoidance Compared to traditional 2D radar, 3D stereoscopic sensors can quickly model the surrounding environment with depth perception to greatly reduce the probability of collision.

What makes a craft cocktail, craft? A craft cocktail is when the bartender respects the ingredients and the patron enough to slow down and do the drink justice. When we bought the business a little over a year ago, the beer selection was extremely limited, easy and quite simply, boring! Since this point we dumped 80% of the offerings, and doubled the options and we have gotten to a point now where we believe that we are starting to receive comparisons to the best beer venues in the city. (We are cheaper than those Alien guys and we have a better selection of local stuff than they do FYI).
