Mindfulness meditation and yoga and advices? Nourish Your Forces – When you do the SWOT for any area of your life, you’ll also recognize your strengths. The better thing to do in life is to decide to commence with your forces. You want to continue performing the things you’re great at and learn to do them even better because you’re interested in these things. Correct Your Flaws – When you find out that you are limited in some fields, you’ll need to decide whether you should change it yourself or develop it by outsourcing it. To settle, which is better, question yourself whether it truly matters who do it or get it done.
Most of my clients are well into their 50s, 60s, and 70s, and they love Pilates because it helps them have more energy, better balance, improved strength, and more mobility. It allows them to participate in all the activities they love with more ease, and most importantly, significantly decreases their risk for injury. If you’re not yet incorporating Pilates into your fitness or rehab routine — what are you waiting for? It’s my go-to exercise system for folks over 40 and it’s my favorite way to help people keep their back pain gone. We actually have an eight-week program (starting Sept 29th) completely dedicated to folks who are new to Pilates, or who have back pain and want to learn how to develop a safe core-strengthening routine. Individuals who have a low risk of coronary heart disease are unlikely to require medical assessment ahead of starting an exercise regimen. However, prior medical evaluation may be advisable for some people, including those with diabetes. Anyone who is unsure about safe levels of exercise should speak to a healthcare professional. It is possible to consume hundreds of calories a day by drinking sugar-sweetened soda, tea, juice, or alcohol. These are known as “empty calories” because they provide extra energy content without offering any nutritional benefits. Unless a person is consuming a smoothie to replace a meal, they should aim to stick to water or unsweetened tea and coffee. Adding a splash of fresh lemon or orange to water can provide flavor. Avoid mistaking dehydration for hunger. An individual can often satisfy feelings of hunger between scheduled meal times with a drink of water.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS, is a common bowel disorder characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, cramps and altered bowel behavior. It is believed that around 15% of the world’s population suffers from IBS – including an estimated 25 to 45 million Americans. Its exact cause isn’t understood. Daily relaxing meditation has been found to relieve symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Following a series of successful studies, researchers at The State University of New York now strongly recommended daily meditation in the management of IBS. See more info at Wellness Care.
Feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders? Meditation is incredibly effective at reducing stress and anxiety. Another study revealed that meditation literally reduces the density of brain tissue associated with anxiety and worrying. If you want your stress levels to plummet, meditation may be the answer.
Eat Your Veggies: At least 50% to 75% of your plate should be vegetables. Pick the colourful ones, which have the most anti-oxidants and nutrients. Do not drown them in unhealthy sauces or dressing. Simply use some real butter or olive oil and vinegar to top them. Drink green tea: Add in a cup or two of green tea every day and you will also be jumpstarting your metabolism and providing some energy. Don’t drink too late in the day though, though as green tea does contain caffeine.
Can Meditating Before Bed Improve Sleep? Meditation, at any point of the day, benefits us in an array of ways. Whether we start our day with a peaceful session, practice it during lunch breaks, or meditate just before going to sleep, the positive impact is profound and visible. Some recent studies have proved that meditating at night helps people with insomnia and sleep disorders. A short practice right before we hit the bed helps to calm our nerves and get us into a relaxed state before we sleep. According to a study by the University of Massachusetts Medical School, the sleep quality of people who practice bedtime meditation is better than non-meditators (Lazar, Carmody, Vangel, Congleton, 2011).
